Blooms The Chemist Pharmacies set to support communities with vaccination rollout

Blooms The Chemist Announces Stores for Rollout across NSW, QLD & WA

Leading community pharmacy network Blooms The Chemist has today announced that 17 of its community pharmacies are joining the nation’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout, commencing in locations across NSW, QLD and WA from 27 July.

Community pharmacies were originally planned to begin vaccinating against the virus in May as part of Phase 2a of the Government’s vaccination schedule, before being deferred.

“Blooms The Chemist is pleased to be supporting the fast-tracking of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout Our local pharmacies, Pharmacists and their teams are ready and waiting to support communities across the country to deliver the vaccinations in the fight against the virus” said Blooms The Chemist’s Head of Retail (and incumbent CEO as of 1 January 2022) Emmanuel Vavoulas.

“Our pharmacists have been receiving questions from customers on a regular basis, asking when they can be vaccinated and advice on the vaccination itself. With eighteen of our pharmacies joining the rollout over the coming weeks, our pharmacists are committed to ensuring the best possible health outcomes for their communities.

“The addition of community pharmacies across the country in the vaccination rollout will provide millions of Australians the option to be vaccinated in their local pharmacy, supporting existing vaccination hubs and General Practitioners,” he added.

Expressions of interest from Blooms The Chemist community pharmacies to participate in the delivery of the vaccine to priority populations from Phase 2a of the national rollout strategy were completed earlier this year. This process was subject to criteria set by the Pharmacy Programs Administrator on behalf of the Department of Health. As part of the approval process, more locations within the Blooms The Chemist network are expected to join the rollout.
