Blooms The Chemist takes action towards a more equitable future
Blooms The Chemist today announced two senior appointments to its Board and Leadership Team, as the community pharmacy network continues to place a greater emphasis on diversity and equity at all levels of the business.
Andria Aird, Pharmacist-owner at Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee and Medical Joondalup, becomes the second woman to join the Board of Blooms The Chemist Management Services. She joins Sally Whiting, Pharmacist-owner at Blooms The Chemist Mudgee and Mudgee Southside, who was appointed to the Board in 2019.
Alexandra Keipert, Pharmacist-owner at Blooms The Chemist Mudgee, she has been appointed to the Blooms The Chemist Management Services Leadership Team, and joins Pamela Bishop, Chief Operations Officer, and Yvette Costi, Chief Marketing Officer.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I am delighted to announce the appointments of Andria and Alexandra to our Board and Leadership Team respectively,” said Blooms The Chemist’s Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Vavoulas.
“Taking action to achieve greater gender equity at all levels of Blooms The Chemist is an imperative and these appointments not only celebrate Andria and Alexandra’s achievements, but also recognise the important contribution and impact they will have on the business moving forward,” he said.
“I’m delighted to be bringing greater female representation to the Board alongside Sally,” said Andria Aird.
“It’s so important that we have greater gender equity at Board level. I look forward to bringing another voice to the table as we build a diverse and equitable culture at Blooms The Chemist and navigate our future as one of the most inclusive and fastest growing community pharmacy networks,” she adds.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Leadership Team at a time when we need greater female representation in leadership positions,” said Alexandra Keipert.
“I have been fortunate to have some great female mentors during my career at Blooms The Chemist and hope I can return the opportunity to the many other women we have across our community pharmacy network,” she adds.
