Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award Breaks Nomination Records

The 2016 Pharmacy Guild of Australia/ GuildSuper Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award has received over 560 nominations – over 100 additional nominations than received in 2015.

Pharmacy Guild of Australia Acting National President, Tim Logan said he is thrilled to see pharmacy assistants being recognised.

“Pharmacy assistants are the frontline of community pharmacy and the contribution they make to each store is vital,” Mr Logan said.

“It’s wonderful to see the encouragement these pharmacy assistants have received from their employers, colleagues and the wider pharmacy industry, to keep up the good work,” he said.

Mr Logan added that there is just two weeks left for pharmacy assistants to nominate themselves, or respond to their nomination.

“The deadline for self-nominations and responding to a nomination is Friday 24 June.

“I encourage all nominees to take the time to respond to their nomination – and let us know why they deserve to be the next Pharmacy Assistant of the Year.

“Entering an award like this can take a lot of courage, so if you have nominated a pharmacy assistant – be sure to encourage them to respond to their nomination, and make sure they know just how valued they are,” Mr Logan said.

State Finalists will be invited to a Workshop Training Day in their capital city. From there, a State Winner will be chosen to represent their State or Territory at the National Finals held at the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference on the Gold Coast in October.

The National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year will take home more than $10,000 in cash and prizes, including a Guild Training course of their choice so they can continue to progress their career.
