Tell Us Why You Love Rural Pharmacy – and Win a Great Prize

Rural and remote pharmacies across Australia are being invited to tell the world about their experiences and why they are so passionate about working in rural and remote areas.

As part of the #iloveruralpharmacy theme of the Rural Pharmacy Forum at APP2017, a competition is being run in which pharmacists are invited to submit a 30-45 second video about work and experiences in their unique pharmacies.

Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Best Video and People’s Choice.

National President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, George Tambassis, said the competition would give rural pharmacies and their staff the opportunity to share their passion.

“Rural and remote pharmacies have some great stories to tell and the passion and commitment of these pharmacists to rural health is inspiring to the rest of the profession,” Mr Tambassis said.

“But all too often we don’t hear their stories and this competition gives the rest of us the chance to learn about their lives and their passion for their profession and their local communities.”

“It’s a chance for them to share their passion and spotlight the great work they do.”

“The competition and the #iloveruralpharmacy theme is an opportunity for these pharmacies to use their creativity to promote the spirit and strength of rural pharmacy.”

The winners will be announced at the Rural Pharmacy Forum session at APP2017 on Thursday 9 March 2017. The two prizes are a full registration to APP2018 and a year’s subscription to GuildCare software for the pharmacy.

Best Video will be judged prior to APP2017, and People’s Choice will be judged by the audience at the Rural Pharmacy Forum session. The Best Video winner will have a choice of prize, with the other prize going to the People’s Choice winner.

To be eligible for the competition, entrants must be an employee or an owner of a PhARIA 4-6 pharmacy. Eligibility will be confirmed before prizes are awarded.
